In 2012 we had a wonderful opportunity to work with Miami Museum of Science and install a beautiful large observation hive exhibit for museum’s visitors to see. While the museum’s staff constructed the observation hive based on the provided plans, we were in charge of filling it with honey bees. The whole process was a new experience for both parties and we were all equally excited for the outcome.

Every time I visited the hive for maintenance, the kids were already waiting for me!

Over the years, the colony grew strong and beautiful. Of course, we had our ups and downs, but it all was a great learning experience. When the museum finally had to move to its new location, unfortunately, the honey bees had to find a new home. So, they came to live with us, at Bunch Farms’ apiary!
